Her father is a software programmer , her grand pa is a incorrigible blogger , her aunt is social media savvy, her sister is 4 year old prolific street photographer .. one of her uncle is a 3D animator , another uncle is into internet marketing..
So Nerjis Asif Shakir one year old who shoots with some help on the Canon EOS 60 D needs no introduction born on 17 July the same day as her father.
This evening she went around the Bandra slums distributing money to beggars the Awakeners and the Umbrella Lady of Bandra Reclamation.
She uses the mobile phone BB to call up her grandpas lost long friends the person she calls often is Aleem from Delhi or Bala Man Friday of late Mr Rajesh Khanna ..
And she does it with total confidence .. at home she plays football with a giant size ball kicking it all around..
She likes the dagger and covered in its sheath she hits her head so Moharam is 24/7 affair in Shia household even during Ramzan.. Ramzan will end with Eid ,Moharam never gets over Every Day is Ashura Every Land is Karbala.

Promoting photography is good but what disheartens me is nothing has changed the same lighting the same slavish following the old masters and a few pseudo old new masters whose world has disappeared and a new brave world highly digitalized more , enervating takes its place , new approach, new perspectives greater use of poetry as a imaginative tool and we at camera club level have no desire to be part of this change and these are my personal views , see one camera club newsletters the images are the same , the lighting the same and than I wonder are we really photographers are mere copycats wanting to remain cowardly backwards ..regressive in time warp and time lapse..
And I hope all this changes one day .. it has I have made my grand daughters both one year old and 4 year old Canon EOS 60D users to see the world as it exists .. without adding or subtracting from the restless angst of the poetry of life.. they shoot and unlearn photography.

She gets up as her parents fast Marziya is fast asleep, and than she heads to my wok cum sleep space , and I give her the Canon EOS 60D .. she knows the shutter button, she lifts it up conveniently but on the bed..
And she knows the camera as she knows the laptop , both important to her she hates dolls toys .. I dont blame her .. she loves cats dogs goats and crows .. they make up her reality of life .. she loves to roam with me , she was wild when I left her at home and took Marziya Shakir her sister to meet Ms Dimple Kapadia at Ashirwad.
She was close to Mr Rajesh Khanna too..
